Prologue
Years ago, two mutant friends became bitter adversaries. Charles Xavier and Erik Lenshurr, who became Professor X and Magneto, formed opposing teams of like-minded mutants.
Lenshurr formed the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, whose name explains their intentions. Set on destroying non-mutants, Magneto became a dangerous terrorist, but was never caught by the law.
Xavier formed a school for mutant children where he taught them control over themselves and their powers. His team became the X-Men, intent of meeting the Brotherhood's threats and stopping them before they accomplished anything.
But, even these two powerful legends were still mortal. Time passed and their bodies grew weary. Their teams became lifeless. Eventually, they passed away. The legacy of the X-Men and the Brotherhood was kept alive by numerous teams following them.
It has been 200 years since the end of the X-Men. In their place is the Legion of X, a powerful militant mutant force housed out of the sub-basement of the old Xavier Institute - now a fortress. The Brotherhood was replaced by the Coalition of Mutants, who sport many members but little in the way of firepower.
The humans are caught in the middle of a mutant civil war, and despite their best efforts, can do nothing without causing even more havoc. The stage is set for a grand face off between good and evil, but the lines between the two continue to blur.
Which path with you choose?
